Pastels are a medium that truly excite me. I love their immediacy - I work quickly, getting messy in the process. They offer a beautiful balance: bold and vibrant, yet soft and calming. As I settle into a piece, that initial energy gradually gives way to a slower, more thoughtful rhythm as I refine the finer details.

I consider myself an illustrator rather than a painter - I've always been more drawn to pencils than brushes. With a background in graphic design, I often enjoy blending stylised, design-inspired elements into my work, adding a unique edge to each piece.

Some of my pastel drawings feature added 3D elements for extra depth and texture. Here, you can see a close-up of one such embellishment from the 'Mermaid' piece shown above.
